Alabama Course of Study Objectives Second Grade met in Balance and Weighing Unit.

1. Identify questions that can be answered through scientific investigations.
Example: questions regarding light as it comes in contact with different materials 2. Use appropriate tools and technology resources to gather, analyze, and interpret data. Examples: rulers, meter sticks, measuring cups, clocks, hand lenses, computers, thermometers, balances, maps 3. Demonstrate the ability to perform safe and appropriate manipulation of materials, living organisms, scientific equipment, and technology. Examples: explaining why students do not taste substances without the teacher's permission, wearing protective goggles when handling substances
4. Use appropriate skills to design and conduct a scientific investigation
